Ta Da - this is me and creating something new

Alright, so I decided I am going to reveal who I am. Feels a bit like I’ve been playing on that reality TV show – the mole, haha, or something equivalent. I decided I will reveal myself because I am now wanting to link my blogging account to some of my other things and well – my name is revealed on those platforms so would be strange if it is hidden here. My name is Lenita Marxsen. I am a proud Mum of a near one-year old, and it’s just our little family of three, thus including my Husband. Of course, if I’m talking about family get togethers, well, that’s a fair dozen plus more people included. Not to mention all the family I have back in Finland

(Of course, I select a photo where my local hairdresser is creating something wonderful with her talented hands into my hair! See creativity everywhere we look!)

Now, with that out of the way. I decided this time’s post will include two different crafty projects I had recently been working on and recently ‘invented’ – if that is the right word. So then firstly the project. Some time ago, I mean many, many years ago when I was searching who knows what crafty thing, I came across this super cool crafty definition. It read;
”PROCRAFTINATING – working on craft projects when you should be cleaning the house, making dinner, sleeping, studying or doing anything else other than crafting.”

I made a reference of it and filed it away only to find it last weekend and was feeling full with abundance of ideas beyond measure. I had paper near me, scissors with different edgings, punch outs, paint, calligraphy pens, wooden placeholders, pegs, washi tape. My mind started whirling with ideas and I FINALLY made something with the quote, and it is a usable/practical item. Of course, I love things with purpose, not just a pretty décor item. (Though they are nice too, but sometimes you need something that works in many rooms!) So with all these fun items surrounding me this is what I made of the Procraftinator quote (refer to picture). (And yes attached are a couple things, a sticker and a gift tag from a magazine called Daphne's Diary - she is brilliant!!

I am not going to start detailing everything I did to make this project, as I believe each individual needs to find what works for themselves and go with that. I’ll admit looking at my projects final result … it could be perceived as messy and over the top. Like are all those pieces of paper ‘really’ needed? Sure it could yield heavy critic, but I like the projects end result and that is all that really matters at the end of the day.

Moving on. The other practical, nifty idea I ‘invented’. Haha, no I don’t think for a minute I invented this, I’m sure there’s millions of people all over the planet using the humble paperclip in this same fashion.

I needed to make a reminder note for myself. See I have this tiny desk calendar and I’ve decided to use it as a goal tracker of sorts. On the back of each month (once it has ended) I write what was achieved that month. So for instance in the month of February I officially started actually publishing my blog posts and got it all up and running. Instead of talking about it for months that turned into years. (Sidestep – what would I tell my younger self? Have the confidence to get your blog posted earlier in life!)

Anyway, back to ‘business’. I wrote myself a cute reminder note and then thought where can I place it to help remind me? My desk is located near our bedroom window and so I can’t just leave it here, because it will blow away. As I looked about on my desk I started re-organising some components and found a copious amount of paperclips. First I though I should take some near the kitchen in the business filing draw, but then as I looked about my desk furniture a thought occurred. I would string a bunch of the paperclips together to be my ‘garland’ string and the ends can be stabilized by some thumb tacks. Then being paperclips, I can hang my reminder notes! Nifty, right?! Check out my picture…

Alright that’s all from me this week. Happy crafting and creating, let me know what you come up with and now you can also find me in Pinterest and the many boards I’ve created to help with projects, organising, cleaning, cooking, decorating. And as a hint… I’m working on my artist skills and will let you know when I’m going to post something more detailed with that (and where!).
Hope you all have a lovely week 😊.
