For the ... Warcraft
I am a BIG fan of the Warcraft merchandise.
My husband and I play the World of Warcraft games, though haven’t been
following the latest expansion with as much detail as the previous games. So,
we had been preoccupied with some other games (to Blizzard’s horror) but
thankfully Blizzard perked our interest when we heard of the re-release for the
original classic World of Warcraft. Also known as “Vanilla WoW”. Once I heard
about the re-release my actual response was “what? no way?!” So, this post is
for my excitement toward the classic game!
I had some many years ago (while,
yes, being obsessed with the game) purchased from a seller on Etsy some
warcraft photocopy prints made onto fabric. I had kept these over the years
unsure of how to use them in a project. But when I heard about the definite
release of Classic WoW, a project immediately came to mind. Afterall, one want’s
to be comfy during game play, right? Soo… A pillow!
I used the four square pictures
by sewing them into a larger square (quilting style). Then I decided something
needs to be added around the edges as a border, as each picture has been
photocopied onto plain white fabric, as a way to liven the look of the pillow.
At this time when I made the pillow we had decided to get rid of one of our
quilts – the fabric just wasn’t the nicest for sleeping with. So a chop chop
here and chop chop there (this sounds too much like “old macdonald had a farm”
now, pardon me the tune is stuck in my head from playing with our one year old son).
The quilt had this nice tropical
look about it with ferns and flora in teal and blue with the occasional bright
pink flower. It reminded me of Zul’Gurub so again I thought it would be a good
pick to suit my pillow, Vanilla WoW concept and overall admiration towards warcraft
merchandise.
After adding these bits, I used more
of the quilt to create my backing and pillow insertion. The shape of this
pillow is much like a normal bed pillow. I used one as my guide, as we had
spare bed pillows in the house. In essence, now this pillow will be good to
rest one’s sleepy head on for more dreamy WoW-like adventures 😊
Happy crafting and see you soon
in WoW!
Bye-bye.
