Doings and Goings
Hi All,
It has been
such a long time since I have last posted, and I am terribly sorry for that. In
review of my last post at least it could hopefully be viewed that I pressed on to
busily do things before the end of this decade! *giggles* I have indeed been
busy I will try to recap as much of possible events with pictures included and new
creative inspirations.
During
October I was trying to do the ‘Inktober challenge’ not that I have much to
show for that. I did some of the
drawings or random scribblings. Then on other days realising I need to find
inspiration for the passed 4 days was not ideal. As I prefer to write over draw,
I began to turn the Inktober prompt list into an ideas board for writing. Some
were just sweet small verses of a poem to expand on later, while others turned
into a short story. Participating in Inktober this way was far more exciting,
with the occasional drawing.
With the idea
of a prompt list I dug out some of the game cards from the Pictionary board
game to use those words as additional challenge words for writing short story
ideas. Now I am looking forward to next year Inktober time!
Following
this began very hot and dry conditions here in Australia. We are in drought times.
With some of our country being in drought for a much longer period and suffering
farms since already back in June. Rain would be a relief during these already scorching
summer like days. (I say ‘like summer days’, because at the time it was still
meant to be our spring season.) In saying this I do pray and believe God will relieve Australia's situation and it all comes down to Faith; believing God will be the source to our needs. You may ask why has he not provided the rain already? I believe, it is because we need to actively put our faith in God supplying the rain, not anything else.

The other way
I did this was again fill the tray with half water and add a couple drops of lime
concentrate then add a few (2 or 3) blueberries and 1 or 2 quarters of
strawberries, into each cube slot. Freeze.
These turned
out great! I’m sure others have done similar ideas before, but I wanted to do ice
cubes so that I can blend the flavours. I’m all-about flavour combinations!
On that note,
we recently celebrated my Mummu’s 80th birthday and when my Husband
sat down next to me at meal-time he looked over at my drink (non-alcoholic) and
said “Is that mixed?” I tried to brush it off and replied “No? Why
would you think that?” And he looked at me stating, “You always mix
drinks, c’mon what is the blend?” I made him guess it, but I only went for
a simple mixed and common blend to make a quick punch-like drink of ginger ale
and tropical punch juice.
(This was made by my Mum for Mummu, beautiful isn't it!)
Although, it
is exciting to plan for a big event like my Mummu’s 80th. It’s also
nice to have the event over to start planning for the best month of all –
December for Christmas. Oh! How I love Christmas and of course the true reason –
Christ being born, for all of us to receive and the message of hope.
Well so far, I can say I’m a bit disappointed as I have let people go
before me in lines or ahead of me on escalators, ahead of me in car parks so others
can get a closer spot. Yes, I am doing this out of generosity and am not
looking for a thank you from other drivers, or customers. But I am a little
shocked to see that no one has in fact thanked. I am hoping the giving and
sharing Christmas spirit is not dying to instead be viewed as “just another
holiday period”.
I’ve just
about caught up to speed and have some great ideas for Christmas I will share
in another post to divide things up a bit. And to let you have a break from
scrolling! Plus, I have a short story idea that has been whirling in my head so
I’ll share that will you all. I think it helps remind the idea of Christmas
giving and sharing.
That’s enough
from me for now, see you again in my next post, where I’ll be sharing with you
about Finnish Independence Day. Just a bit disappointing that I didn’t get to
post these a few days earlier! Sorry!
❤
Lenita.
