A New Beginning

Hi Everyone,

Thank you all for your support in the year 2019. Last year when I decided to start blogging it all seemed a very daunting experience! Honestly, I had put off the entire process for years. Well. This is a new year, a new decade. I say if anyone has the notion to do something – go do it! One foot behind the other and move forward. Chase your dreams and find your future and success. Don’t worry about striving to be number 1, everyone is there own number one. Unless you can find someone who is exactly like you, with the same upbringing, the same thought patterns and looks identical to you? Not even twins are the same, for they are their own person.

Where am I getting to with this? Great question. This is a new year full of opportunities that only YOU can achieve. What is really standing in the way of you and success? It can’t be other people because they are not you.

Let’s do this together. As you would have realised by now I enjoy looking at the world in a creative lens. Often people come to with random items, from furniture to scraps of various materials and ask me what they should do with it. I think about it for a couple minutes, thinking about what the item at hand could be transformed into to suit that person. The bonus is I know the personality and who these people are or what their homes or lives are like so I try to think of a useful and practical result from the given item. After that couple of minutes of thought, my ideas start to roll out of my mouth like verbal diarrhoea. Then the person is often overwhelmed and generally replies, “You should really do something with all these ideas.”

And that’s where the idea for blogging came in. I wanted to share my ideas with others, in case others have the same problem. What can I do with these items…

Before I leave, I’m going to share this picture with you. I love silhouette pictures! It feels like an inviting atmosphere. With this new year beginning, I leave this thought with you. When the sun rises and leaves the buildings in the shadows (the silhouette) what bright light is going to emerge from within? What amazing thing can you accomplish this day, this week, this month, this year and this decade?

Hi All! IT IS ALMOST CHRISTMAS! I hope you all have finished your Christmas shopping, creating, decorating, crafting, baking and anything else that could fit in that list! For us Christmas is already happening. Seeing some people here and there and on this day and that day. Gifts here, laughter and fun over there. For those of you who are pumping out the last few things, in these last few moments or the last day. Here’s some last-minute gift-wrapping tricks and ideas I’ve got. Hopefully throughout the year you may have collected some cereal boxes. These are great for other crafts too – and not just with kids! (New year’s resolution idea maybe? Keep cereal boxes for future craft and gift-wrapping ideas!) I remove the tabs off the top of the cereal box so there is an opening, then wrap the box up with Christmas Paper. So Many Jars - Part 2

Hi All,  Well, it appears after clearing out some small baby food jars, from the last time I mentioned these. I found another place I had stored some jars and thought what is something different I could do to utilise these jars. Hmm..  Well, turns out I found something indeed, and now I am unsure if I would like to give the set away or keep it myself haha. Butter it up into a pudding...

Hi Everyone! A couple months ago a friend of mine advised how he loves bread and butter pudding and he was learning to make it himself. I recall announcing how I detest bread and butter pudding. Funny enough, bring the time forward to current day and I felt it necessary to update my friend on how I made bread and butter pudding and ENJOYED it. Goodness me. It happened as a result of having a left-over crusty Vienna loaf that was just soooo good, but unfortunately my husband and I couldn’t eat that much bread and now the loaf was slowly going stale. What options did I have in order to not waste it? I wasn’t keen on making it into breadcrumbs as I so often do with other stale bread or bread crusts from when I make “voileipä kakku” (Sandwich Cake – that can be a post for another time.
