Ready, Aim and Be Creative!

Nerf guns, they can be creative you know. Some people go to great lengths to customise these toys to look like real thing. Anyway, that’s not what I’m talking about here. My hubby and his mates have a collection of these toys they use for fun on each other. I tried to get involved in a couple of their rounds once, I don’t think it was really my thing. I’m not really the type to dive out literally and try to aim and shoot. If I did, I think all my foam bullets would end up in the wall rather than any actual target. I’ll stick to the arts thank you.

Well this one time they asked for me to set up the house with all the guns and spare foam bullet magazine packs spread out so they could play one of those shoot’em-up type games, but for real. Have I ever expressed how I LOVE to play hide and seek with things?

Brief side-track here, for Easter each year, since I can remember, a little game my Mum and I would play inside the house was to get small Easter eggs, pick a room of the house, then hide the chosen eggs in that room for the other person to find. We have kept this tradition alive, despite being almost 30!

So to the boys request I said, sure I am happy to help hide these toys for you guys! Hahaha. I asked some things about the toys to make sure I was leaving the weakest ones right near the entry point. Then hid the more powerful type ones in awkward places where I knew the guys would get shot from just trying to dig out the hidden treasure. Then the magazine packs I would put hiding all over the place! At the end of the round I wasn’t sure if I had more fun or they did. It was a blast watching them play this silly game with each other. Probably something more suited to 10-year-old boys at a birthday party, but hey, who said Adults can’t play with kid’s toys?

This is what I call men’s creativity.
